I recently purchased a Binaltech Arcee purely on the basis that it reminds me more of Megatron than Arcee.
Anywho, with this is mind I looked deeper into the whole Binaltech mythos, nay the whole Transformer’s mythos in the eyes of Takara:

Turns out, there’s a nice gap between 2007 and 2010, when the U.S. Season 3 is set.
Also turns out that Soundwave is still active, and up to no good.
So here in essence is the scoop:
Circa 2008 – Soundwave after implimenting his music label clones to control humanity, stumbles across Wheeljack’s GT System technology.
Utilising a Legion cell not returned to Galvatron, schematics gathered from the Decepticon’s Gladiatorial beginnings and pieces gathered from the Battle of Autobot City, Soundwave brings about the Return of Megatron!
Once payday comes, Tim and I can start on actually modding the toy!
